Synopsis

Set in the Joseon Dynasty during King Jeong Jo's reign, this martial-arts fusion sageuk is centered around the events involving Crown Prince Sado's conspiracy. Warrior Baek Dong Soo was a real-life legend who created a martial arts guide in Joseon. His group, who defends King Jeong Jo, is pitted against a mysterious organization of assassins who plot to kill the King.

Set in the Joseon dynasty, this historical/ action drama is based on a  popular comic of the same name. The story is inspired by the events  surrounding Crown Prince Sado’s conspiracy. Sworn to protect the King,  Warrior Baek Dong Soo (Ji Chang Wook) and his team of imperial guards  must defend his Royal Highness against a mysterious organization of  assassins.

Baek Dong Soo is lucky to be alive. His father, Baek Sa Geong, was Crown Prince Sado’s closest liaison and was framed for conspiring a revolt against the King. Yoo Ji Sun bears a heavy burden. Her great grandfather had been the late Crown Prince’s bodyguard. The Book Of War contains a big map of secret roads and pathways that would allow Joseon soldiers to infiltrate Beijing. Her father, Yoo So Kang, passes the important book to her for keeping.
